0315L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT  06/08/24

*MESO CONVECTIVE SYSTEMS, (MCS), will continue to be a pest for the area during the overnight hours. Storms will form over the high plains of Wyoming and Colorado and work their way southeast. We will be in the MARGINAL RISK area for later tonight so we’ll see how this mess comes together. We will also have a front push into the area along with a low level jet forming tonight. We’ll see what happens.

*By the way, an MCS is a complex of thunderstorms which becomes organized on a scale larger than the individual thunderstorms, and normally persists for several hours or more.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Saturday- Mostly sunny. Hot with highs around 102. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Saturday Night- Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 70s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, becoming northeast 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 20 percent.
