0405L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-5/11/19

1-We face many hazards in our daily lives but don’t pay much attention to our surroundings. With faces buried in their phones, listening to music unaware of the immediate surroundings, or just not paying attention, can get you hurt or worse. Whose fault is that?  Whether you like this answer or not IT’S YOURS. Situational awareness means you should be aware of your surroundings at all times. In the world of preparedness, this is extremely important. Knowing what is going on around you at all times is important for your safety and the safety of your family. Not paying attention, not being prepared for any hazard or incident is not anyone’s fault but your own. In a society of non-responsibility for one’s own actions mindset, I can only do one thing for you. That is put those tools out there for you to read and study. Our new 2019 Preparedness Guide is available on our gcem.org website under docs. Take a few minutes and read it.
