*GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification app. Keep up with the latest from GCEM and the NWS. Download it today.

*Earth is experiencing a Geomagnetic Storm from the sun. This type of activity hasn’t been this strong since roughly 2003. That said, here is a link to the Space Weather Prediction Center so if you want to read and learn more about this scenario, you can. There has been some power hits along the grid late yesterday in the region so this might be why. Check this out when you have some time.  https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/

*Weather-wise for the area, nice today with increasing clouds later as a low pressure system approaches from the west. Instability will be low with this system so we shouldn’t see severe weather. Our rain chances increase later tonight into tomorrow.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the lower 80s. Northwest winds around 5 mph, becoming south this afternoon.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy in the evening, then partly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the upper 50s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
