0330L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 05/04/24

*SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 0400L. FLOOD WATCH UNTIL 5/5/24 AT 1300L.

*There is a line of storms WNW of us moving east at 40 mph. At 0325L, this line is capable of 50 mph winds, nickel size hail, and torrential rainfall. It’s along a line from just west of Alva To Woodward. There are several cells going up just ahead of the main line so we’ll see how this mess comes together. The cells are forming JUST BEHIND the cold front that is pushing into the area.

Overall, we’ll be ok but there may be a little noise along with winds and lightning in a little while. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly cloudy with showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms this morning, then partly sunny this afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall this morning. Highs in the lower 70s. North winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms. A chance of showers in the evening, then showers likely after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Lows in the mid-50s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
