0340L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-11/30/19

1-WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9AM UNTIL 9PM. Today will be similar to last Tuesday except some areas will be a bit muddy. Winds will increase earlier today than last Tuesday.

2- A “GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER STATEMENT” has been issued too. Garfield County is included. To all concerned, NO CONTROLLED BURNING and here’s why; even though the surface may be wet and possibly muddy in some areas, winds will dry out surface areas fairly quickly. Dead foliage will also dry out quickly as  Humidity will be dropping dramatically.  REPORT ANY SMOKE OR FIRE TO 911 immediately.

3- Overall, we’ll be ok so enjoy the day and keep your noses on Ready Alert for smoke!! Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly sunny and windy. Highs in the upper 50s. Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 50 mph.

Tonight-Clear and colder with lows in the lower 30s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph gusting to 35.
