*A shortwave trough will affect the area this afternoon into the evening hours. There is actually a chance for rain and possibly a thunderstorm. No severe weather is forecast but rainfall, IF it occurs, could amount to roughly a quarter of an inch or so. At this point, we’ll take ANY precipitation that can occur.

*We are still in an EXTREME DROUGHT so if you do anything with fire, use extra caution. Call 911 if you all see any smoke or fire.

Today- Mostly sunny this morning, then mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the mid-70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows around 50. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
