0415L-SUNDAY UPDATE FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-2/25/18
1-ENJOY TODAY AND MONDAY. SOAK UP SOME SUN THEN MORE RAIN IS POSSIBLY ON THE WAY
2-Thundershowers are possible on Tuesday around the area and some severe weather on Wednesday in the SE quadrant of the state. Still a few variables out there in the models so we’ll just wait and see how Mother Nature sets up then deal with it.
3-Since the BURN BAN has been lifted, if you see fire and or heavy smoke and no one is around it, CALL 911. If it’s along a highway, it probably ISN’T a controlled burn. CALL 911. A CONTROLLED BURN means someone is monitoring the fire. If no one is watching it, it’s an OUT OF CONTROL BURN. CALL 911 and we’ll be happy to go put it out.
4- FIRE WEATHER will be near CRITICAL at times this week out west and possibly ELEVATED around here so be careful. The rain helps the soil, not the dead foliage, so be careful out there.
5- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today-Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 58. Southeast wind 5 to 14 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
Tonight-Mostly clear, with a low around 27. West northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.
HAVE A SUPER DAY!!
MIKE
