0240L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 5/14/23

**Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. You’re not prepared without it. This post will appear on the app under GCEM BLOG each day in the event you don’t see it on social media.

* PER GUIDANCE: Moisture will continue to stream into the area thus giving us a better chance for widespread showers and possibly a thunderstorm. We aren’t expecting anything severe since instability is limited. Precipitable water values will give us the potential for heavy rainfall.

* As stated yesterday, if we do see heavy rainfall, avoid low lying areas due to possible flooding. Keep an eye out on the creek areas too and keep that eye on the kids if they do get into any of those creek areas. The critters are out and about.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Patchy fog this morning. Showers likely. A chance of thunderstorms this morning, then thunderstorms likely this afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. East winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy. Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly in the evening. Lows in the lower 60s. East winds around 5 mph, becoming north after midnight. Chance of rain 60 percent.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
