0345L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-5/31/2020

1- We got up into the mid-80s yesterday and we’ll end up in the upper 80s today. Summer is slowly creeping in. It appears we’ll see temps into the low to mid-90s by Tuesday and this will last through at least next weekend. No complaints here!!

2-Hopefully harvest can get going soon as the wheat is looking pretty good in our area. Speaking of harvest, you will see and probably end up behind combines and other farm equipment so be patient as they aren’t as fast as your car or truck.

3-Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph.

Tonight-Clear. Lows around 60. South winds 10 to 15 mph gusting to 20 mph.

DIRECTORS COMMENT

The second graph surprised me when going through forecast information this morning. It’s difficult for me to understand ANYONE leaving small children in a vehicle. We all know what it’s like to get into a hot vehicle so imagine someone having to be in those temps for any length of time while you run into a store for ONLY A MINUTE!! That minute always turns into MINUTES and the worst can happen. If you have ever had any heat related issue, imagine a small child that can’t tell you what’s wrong. It could mean their life and then your agony. If you don’t have time to take a child in with you, leave that child at home with someone who is responsible.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
