0255L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/22/23

*Windy conditions will exist today with some wind gusts upwards of 35 mph. The higher cirrus cloud layer we saw yesterday should shift south and give us mostly clear skies and we should see temps into the upper 80s. With lower dewpoint temps and lower humidity, our Fire Danger will increase. Emergency Management is stating that controlled burning is NOT ADVISED today or tomorrow.

*Rain chances look pretty good except the southeast half of the state looks more likely to see possibly over an inch of rainfall. We look to receive around .25 of an inch here in our area. This is model guidance and it could change so we’ll see what happens for sure. Either way, we’ll take any rainfall that occurs. The rainfall should fire up Monday afternoon through at least Wednesday.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Sunday- Sunny, breezy with highs in the upper 80s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph, becoming south 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday Night- Mostly clear. Lows in the mid-60s. South winds 15-20 mph gusting up to 30 mph.

* As stated before, the Fire Danger is increasing so be careful out there.

*Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. Your not prepared without it.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
