0400L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 04/11/24

*Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions will exist today due to low humidity and strong NNW winds. A Rangeland Fire Danger Forecast has been issued for the 10 am to 7pm time frame today, for our area and NW Oklahoma. Here is that link- https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&issuedby=OUN&product=RFD

We missed the rain but at least we are greening up a little so that will help some. The ELEVATED Fire Weather situation will be on going for the next 5-6 days or so. Our next chance for rain or even severe weather will be on Monday, as it looks right now. We’ll see what happens.

*Overall, we’ll be ok except for the fire danger so we will ask that NO CONTROLLED BURNING BE CONDUCTED WHEN WINDS ARE ABOVE 15 MPH. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 40s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph, becoming south around 5 mph after midnight.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
