0250L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 4/13/23

* Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny, breezy with highs in the lower 80s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, increasing to 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph this afternoon.

Tonight- Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 50s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

*Very windy today along with elevated fire potential continues the statement of NO CONTROLLED BURNING again today & through the weekend. Wind gusts upwards of 30+ mph and EXTREME drought conditions are the main reasons for the statement. If you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately so the proper response can be sent.

*We will be in a SLIGHT RISK AREA for possibly some severe weather on Friday as a storm system out west and a cold front up north aim for the area. As in the past, timing, moisture return, and a strong capping inversion will be 3 factors that may prevent any storms. IF BY CHANCE storms do occur, as it appears right now, all hazards may be possible. We’ll see what happens and advise accordingly.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
