0250L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 8/29/24

*One last day with temps in the mid-90s and the heat index at or near 100 along with gusty winds. We have a cold front that will push into the area overnight tonight and bring us a good chance for rain. Rain could start during the early evening hours based on timing. Either way, we need the rainfall so we’ll take when it happens.

*With windy conditions today, the Fire Danger will be a little higher so keep an eye out and call 911 if you see smoke and/or fire.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the upper 90s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming mostly cloudy. A chance of showers in the evening, then showers after midnight. Lows in the upper 60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph, becoming east 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 80 percent.

*Be thinking about Fall and Winter Preparedness along with getting ready for our Fall storm season. Additional info coming in September.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!
