0325L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 8/28/24
*Hot temps again today with highs in the upper 90’s. The heat index should remain a few degrees above the high temp again today so use caution while working outdoors. A cold front will push in late Thursday overnight into early Friday bringing us a chance for thunderstorms. We definitely need some rain. After the Thursday night rain, our next chance for thunderstorms will be later on Sunday into Sunday night. We’ll see what actually occurs.
*The Fire Danger is climbing so keep an eye out and call 911 if you see any smoke or fire. Winds will be relatively light today so if anyone does any controlled burning, be sure to call it in to dispatch at 580-234-3473. They will let us know what’s going on.
*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny. Highs in the upper 90s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
One final note in looking forward, it appears we’ll have high temps for a few days next week in the 80’s. Be thinking about Fall and Winter Preparedness along with getting ready for our Fall storm season. More on this in the coming days.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
