0320L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 02/22/24

*Cooler today as we will have a weak cold front move through early this morning. North-northwest winds of 15-20 with gusts into the 30s are expected. Lower humidity and dew point temps will help the FIRE DANGER exist today and tomorrow. It will lessen over the weekend and increase next week. Stay aware of your surroundings and report any smoke or fire that you see. Temperature-wise, we’ll be cooler since the front is pushing in by about 5 to 10 degrees but highs should remain in the 60s.

* We continue to have fires in and around the county. If you see any power lines arcing or if any are down, call 911. Also, anyone doing a controlled burn please call our dispatch at 580-234-FIRE (3473). In the event there are fires around the area, please stay clear of that particular area. It’s safer for you and for emergency services responders. One last thing, if you see any suspicious activity out there, call the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office AT 580-237-0244.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. North winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Tonight- Clear. Lows in the upper 30s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
