0350L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-2/4/21

1- WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3PM THIS AFTERNOON. A COLD FRONT WILL PUSH THROUGH EARLY THIS MORNING CAUSING WINDS 25-35 MPH WITH GUSTS POSSIBLY TO 50 MPH. Use extreme caution while driving especially on east/west roads.

2- Timing of the arctic air that has been talked about all week appears to have slowed a little and won’t impact the area until the late Sunday/early Monday timeframe. MONDAY-TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY we’ll see high temps in the upper 20s to around 30 degrees with lows in the teens. It’s going to be a bit chilly out there.

3- Until then, mild temps will prevail but the winds will make it seem cool. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Thursday-Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 50. Windy, with a north northwest wind 25 to 35 mph decreasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 48 mph.

Thursday Night-Mostly clear, with a low around 29. North northwest wind 6 to 10 mph becoming south after midnight.
