0310L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 01/18/24

*Fairly warm temps are again forecast for the area as we wait for another cold intrusion. The next front is just to our northwest and should push in sometime this afternoon shifting winds from southerly to northerly.  Winds will be gusty for several hours after frontal passage but should lay down after that. No snow or rain with this one. Our high temps will remain below freezing Friday and Saturday and we should see highs in the 30s on Sunday.

*On Monday, there is an outside chance we might see some freezing rain/sleet. “IF” that does happen here, use extreme caution while driving. Freezing rain is expected in the eastern half of Oklahoma on Monday. We’ll see how forecasts verify.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the lower 40s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight- Partly cloudy in the evening, then clearing. Brisk, cold with lows around 12. North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Wind chill values as low as 5 below.
