0415L-THURSDAY UPDATE FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/14/19
WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6AM UNTIL 7PM THIS EVENING. Northwest winds 25-35 gusting up to 50 mph are possible through this evening. Continue to use EXTREME CAUTION when driving.
1-The winds blew yesterday and they are going to blow today too. Just not as high as they were yesterday as it looks right now. Winds will also blow from the Northwest so be careful opening your vehicle doors. It was almost a challenge to get in or out yesterday depending how I parked.
2- Here is something to remember since Facebook had issues yesterday; Information from my office is always available on our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app or on our gcem.org website. On the app, where it says GCEM blog, that is the same post, sometimes modified , that I post on social media so if this happens again, and you have our app, you’ll continue to receive our advisories and other information. Many folks freaked out due to the outage. I don’t live on social media but I wanted to make sure you knew where to keep up with pertinent information, at least from us.
3- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Thursday-Partly sunny with a high near 49. Windy, with a northwest wind 15 to 25 mph increasing to 30 to 40 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 47 mph.
Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy during the early evening then gradual clearing with a low around 29. Northwest wind 15 to 25 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 32 mph.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
MIKE
