FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

First of all, sorry about the date issue yesterday. Allergies have the better of me right now and my mind got a bit overcast. Still overcast this morning but it’s clear outside and a bit chilly.

That said my first graphic below shows how the weather could be outside right now so just keep in mind that we can have winter events in March and even into April. I still feel we will have a winter event of some sort before we completely get into springtime.
The fire danger is still critical so continue to be careful out there. If you see smoke and/or fire, call 911 ASAP. Thank you.
There are many activities going on this month and the main one for you all is the NWS Spotter training on March 21st. This is open to the public and I would state that you will learn a lot without the drama if you would like to attend.
Also- now is the time to get our app downloaded and learn how it works. You won’t be prepared if you don’t have our app. It’s GARFIELD COUNTY EM for androids and iPhone. For those who receive texts but don’t have a smartphone, you can sign up for text alerts here for MASS NOTIFICATION TEXTShttps://apps.myocv.com/mass/signup/a11873701
