0325L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 03/21/24

*Showers and thunderstorms are on the menu this morning and this evening as a storm system moves through the area. We’re not expecting any severe but there could be some small hail at times if we see the heavier cells. These cells won’t be moving very fast so if we do see heavy rainfall, some areas might see some possible flooding. The heavier potential will be in the southern half of the state.

Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Partly sunny with isolated showers and thunderstorms this morning, then mostly cloudy with numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the mid-60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Lows in the upper 40s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

*As stated yesterday, here is a good place to start to review Severe Thunderstorm Safety. I know everyone feels they know mostly everything you need to know but there just may be something under these titles that would be a good review. FINALLY, make sure you download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app as you’ll receive advisories and warnings “directly” from the NWS, IN DETAIL. You’ll also receive info from us.
