0305L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-3/23/23

* A storm system out west moving east and a cold front oozing south will make an interesting day. For the Garfield County area, it looks like a LOW POSSIBILITY for rainfall but it’s not out of the question. The front is moving very slow and will be a factor this afternoon to our south and east on where severe storms will be. All hazards are possible south and east of us with large hail being the biggest threat. If you plan on traveling south and or east today, expect that possibility for severe weather this afternoon into the evening hours. The front SHOULD pass through our area sometime between 6 to 9am local time. Hopefully we’ll see some rainfall.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so enjoy the day and hopefully some rainfall. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Thursday-Partly sunny in the morning, then mostly cloudy with isolated showers in the afternoon. Highs around 70. West winds around 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph, becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy. Scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms in the evening, then numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the mid 40s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
