0230L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 04/16/24

*As of 0220L this morning, we had received approximately 1/8 of an inch of rainfall from the small storms that passed through the area around 0100L. It wasn’t much but better than nothing. After the front pushes through the area early this morning, winds will become westerly 15-25 mph with an occasional gust upwards of 35-40 mph. The winds today will dry us back up and the fire danger will increase by afternoon.

*Our next chance for any rainfall will be Thursday as another storm system and front push through the area. This one is focused on southeast Oklahoma. We’ll see what happens.

*Overall, cooler temps will filter in later today and tonight. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny, breezy with highs in the lower 80s. Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

Tonight- Clear. Lows around 50. West winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, diminishing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight.
