0330L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 04/23/24

*Download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. You’ll get detailed notifications from the NWS and from us in Emergency Management. As we move into Spring, your need for information will increase. Be sure to download our app today!

*A cold front is expected later this morning or early afternoon, depending on timing, and we’ll go from strong south winds to strong northerly winds pretty abruptly so be prepared for that change. Also, there might be a chance for showers and thunderstorms late tonight into Wednesday morning. I will update this after the late morning guidance comes out. There is a chance we might see thunderstorm activity all week so we can only hope.

*The talk is that we have a chance for thunderstorms each day this week but where they actually happen may be a different story. Will wait and see how mid-day guidance deals with the new data. Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the lower 80s. Southwest winds around 15 mph, becoming north this afternoon. Gusts up to 30 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear in the evening, then partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows around 50. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Finally, if you see smoke or fire, call 911.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
