0315L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 4/29/25
SEVERE T-STORM WATCH UNTIL 10 AM THIS MORNING. FLOOD WATCH FROM NOW UNTIL MAY 1 AT 1 AM.
A cold front is pushing in this morning and may give us a better chance for rain. At 0315 the front is just west of Medford to just north of Arnett. There are ongoing storms that will be pushing into Alfalfa County moving to the northeast. Other storms will be forming along the front so just be prepared.
We are in a Slight Risk area today so just be prepared for thunderstorms during the day. It shouldn’t rain all day but if storms go severe, it would initially be due to hail and or winds. The front may stall somewhere near the I-44 corridor and the higher threats would remain south of us. This will have to be watched carefully.
Overall, we should be ok. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:
Today- Showers with a chance of thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall this morning. Some thunderstorms may be severe with heavy rainfall this afternoon. Cooler with highs in the mid-60s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.
Tonight- A chance of thunderstorms. Showers. Some thunderstorms may be severe with heavy rainfall. Lows in the mid-50s. East winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming southeast after midnight. Chance of rain 90 percent.
