0315L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 4/28/25

*WEATHER PERMITTING, WE WILL TEST THE ENID STORM SIRENS AT NOON TODAY

SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING HOURS.

Per Guidance, if storms can get going in the northern part of the state, they will most likely be supercells with all hazards possible. All hazards mean- very large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. We do have a front and dryline situation along with a low level jet ramping up later today into the overnight hours. We’ll have to wait and see where the front ends up and adjust from there. Just be prepared for possibly some bumpy weather.

Overall, we should be ok. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Today- Partly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Some thunderstorms may be severe. Breezy with highs in the lower 80s. South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then showers and thunderstorms likely after midnight. Some thunderstorms may be severe. Lows in the mid-50s. South winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.
