Garfield County Emergency Management – Tuesday Weather Outlook (7/21/2026)
An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for Garfield County today from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Dangerous heat will impact the area this afternoon with temperatures reaching 105° and heat index values as high as 109°. Heat-related illnesses can develop quickly if proper precautions aren’t taken.
If you must be outdoors:
- Drink plenty of water.
- Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
- Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
- Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
- Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone without adequate cooling.
There is a slight chance (10%) of an isolated shower or thunderstorm after 4:00 PM, but most locations will remain dry.
Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 74° after a warm evening.
