0310L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-11/8/22

1- COLD WEATHER IS COMING! ARE YOU PREPARED? YES, we have had a freeze but we did warm back up. Hoses are reconnected to the house and have been left there. We will reach freezing temps early Friday morning with lows in the upper 20’s then overnight lows will drop into the low to mid 20s over the weekend. Broken pipes are not fun so disconnect those hoses.

2- The colder weather I spoke of will be from a cold front that will slide in Thursday evening and bring much colder air. Before it gets here strong winds will increase the FIRE DANGER on Wednesday so be extremely careful and I would ask that no controlled burning occur after today since winds will increase 10-20 with higher gusts overnight tonight.

3- There is a chance for some rain/drizzle this morning but amounts should be light if it occurs.

4- Overall, we’ll be ok so get your coats back out and be ready for much colder air by Friday morning. Here is your forecast for today from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Cloudy. Areas of fog this morning. A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly this morning. Highs in the lower 70s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
