0330L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 10/15/24
*FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 0100L THROUGH 0800L WEDNESDAY MORNING
*As stated above, a FREEZE WARNING will be in effect from 1am until 8am tomorrow morning. We’ll have another cold front pushing in today bringing with it colder air and strong winds 15-25 mph gusting upwards of 35mph or so. This will intensify any fire that gets started so if anyone did any controlled burning yesterday, patrol that area and make sure it’s completely out. Embers can glow for days and winds will flare things back up. Call 911 if you see smoke or fire. The FIRE DANGER IS ELEVATED bordering on NEAR CRITICAL.
*Overall, we’ll be ok. Here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny, breezy with highs around 70. East winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, increasing to northeast 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph this afternoon.
Tonight- Mostly clear. Cold with lows in the lower 30s. Northeast winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, diminishing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight.
