FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- TUESDAY- 9/12/17

Download our emergency app- GARFIELD COUNTY EM– It just might SAVE YOUR LIFE!

In the aftermath of any weather event, folks want to return and see what’s left of their homes. People who live in Key West or along the way on the various islands are finding out they can’t return home. Officials have closed the area due to downed power lines, some roads that are gone, and extremely unsafe conditions. FRUSTRATION of the citizens becomes very apparent. Understand that until officials deem it safe to at least travel into the area and actually ANNOUNCE that you can return, stay put and wait until permission is granted. It’s for YOUR safety.

This first paragraph will be on our www.gcem.org website under Preparedness Tips.  For our area here in Northern Oklahoma, SUMMER LIKE conditions will move in for the next several days with a very outside chance for rain later in the weekend. Not holding my breath on the rain simply because the atmosphere here is capped and very dry per NWS Guidance.  That said, enjoy the heat!!! Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Tuesday-Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming north northeast 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

Tuesday Night-Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

HAVE A SUPER DAY!!
