FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

We are coordinating with Breckinridge officials to perform a storm siren test IN BRECKINRIDGE TODAY around noon. We normally set theirs off when we do ours so if you hear a storm siren in the Breckinridge area today, don’t panic, it’s just a secondary test. That said, we have been working on several of ours and we will test here in the Enid area on March 6th.

In the graphs below, you will see the fire weather concerns are going up. You know the drill, keep your eyes peeled for smoke and or fire and report it asap!!

I will be working on preparedness videos over the next few weeks so you may see a video attached to posts in the near future. Don’t worry; they will be short and to the point. These will be attached to our updated website whenever that occurs, hopefully soon.

Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Wednesday-Sunny, with a high near 78. South southwest wind 5 to 9 mph.
Wednesday Night-Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. South southeast wind around 7 mph.

Finally, we will test our GARFIELD COUNTY EM APP Mass Notification system today along with Nixle between 1130 and 1 pm. Now is a good time to get our app downloaded and learn how it works. If you don’t have our app, you are not prepared!!

Have a super day!!
Mike
