FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

The cold has set in and is it me or does the cold seem to hurt a little more as you get older? When a new pain occurs, with me, I see that instant in my past that caused it today. They call that delayed pain. Seems to me it all came from high school and a few from college. You younger folks take heed of what we older folks tell you about getting injured when you’re young. It WILL COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU IN LATER YEARS.
I said that to say this, fronts, troughs, and drylines are boundaries that separate different air masses. With that comes a difference in AIR PRESSURE. This does affect how you feel. When a front is coming or is close, do your joints hurt and sometimes throb? Weather does affect you and the older you get, the worse it is. All I can say is exercise as much as you can to lessen the pain.

So why discuss this? EVERYONE will feel some sort of effect from this as you get older. Some deny this is true but for those in my generation, we know it’s true. What do my joints tell me weatherwise for today? Wear a coat if going outside, wear a stocking cap since I am bald, and wear gloves so my hands work a little easier. A little lesson in weather and common sense this morning.
