0420L-WEDNESDAY UPDATE FROM ENID/GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/4/18

July 4, 1776 marks the anniversary of the adoption and publication of the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE from Great Britain by our Continental Congress. We became the United States of America and were no longer ANY part of the British Empire. Here is a little history lesson: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_Day_(United_States)

1- Another hot day here in the area so with all the festivities going on, pay attention to those that may have heat issues. Stay hydrated and keep that extra eye on the elderly and younger children.

2- Rain may be back in the forecast for this weekend but there are some differences in the models. We’ll see how all of this verifies.

3-I stated a few days ago about the legality of firing fireworks here in town and on county roads. If you know a farmer out there, get permission and have fun. If you accidentally start a fire with fireworks, don’t run and hide, call 911.

4- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Independence Day-Sunny with highs in the mid-90’s. Heat index values around 100. South-southeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday Night-Mostly clear with lows around 74. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph.

HAVE A SUPER DAY AND STAY COOL!!

MIKE
