0320L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-10/4/23

* A cold front is slowly moving this way. Timing is an issue right now as it speeds up and slows down so it should come through the area sometime this afternoon or evening. With it comes a chance for thunderstorms with a few possibly severe. We are in a MARGINAL RISK AREA but again timing will be an issue. There is that chance we won’t see any rain but hopefully it’ll come. Wind and large hail would be our threats if storms do occur. We’ll keep an eye out on this. Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app as NWS advisories and warnings come through it IN DETAIL when they are issued.

*Saturday morning will be COLD with lows in the upper 30s or low 40s. Either way, a lot colder than we’ve been this fall. Be prepared for this. Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- A chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning and likely this afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. South winds 5-10 mph, becoming northeast this afternoon. Chance of rain 70%.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy. Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly in the evening. Lows in the upper 50s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph, becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of rain 70 percent.

* Reminder: If you see smoke or fire call 9-1-1. If you plan a controlled burn, call dispatch at 580-234-3473.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
