** TODAY is that day you should have our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. NWS advisories/warnings come through in detail. Download it and understand how it works. Pay close attention to information that will be pushed through from GCEM and the NWS.

*We are in an ENHANCED RISK for severe weather later today with ALL HAZARDS POSSIBLE. Where storms form this afternoon will be an important question. Here is a link to the NEW SHORT TERM FORECAST and it will change some today- https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&issuedby=OUN&product=AFD  welcome to my world. Many variables to consider so we’ll see how this mess comes together.

* THERE’S NO NEED TO PANIC!! Take time this morning to make sure your plans are in place and you know what you are going to do IF we have dangerous weather coming. Decision making under stress makes for bad decision-making.  There is a possibility that we may not see any storms here but we may in the area so again, DON’T PANIC as we will DEPLOY spotters to keep an eye out if needed and our Operations Center will be manned.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning, then partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Tonight-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then partly cloudy after midnight. Some thunderstorms may be severe. Lows in the mid-60s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

FINALLY, I have a briefing at 10 am with the NWS and will do a short live broadcast update on social media after its over. @EGCEM IS THE SHORTCUT ON FACEBOOK. YES, ALL CAPS

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
