0250L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 5/10/23

** GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification and preparedness app. NWS information comes through, IN DETAIL, when issued. We’ll send out info from our office, when necessary, too. Expect additional information later today and tomorrow from our office through this app.

* GENERAL RISK for thunderstorms later today and tonight. The severe threat is in NW Oklahoma. Keep in mind that the atmosphere is unstable but capped. If any thunderstorm develops it would most likely be severe producing heavy rainfall, hail, and strong winds. We will stand that chance for t-storms all week into the weekend.

*The above said, on Thursday, we will be in a SLIGHT RISK for severe weather with ALL HAZARDS POSSIBLE. This will be the day we’ll have to watch very carefully. NO NEED FOR PANIC though, just get and be prepared. Guidance on this part from the SPC should become clearer later today or tomorrow morning. Several variables on this right now.

TODAY- Partly sunny in the morning, then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 60s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
