0330L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 2/28/25
Today will be warm and a bit windy so expect possibly dusty conditions depending where you are. We are expecting a front to push in this afternoon but it won’t have a dramatic affect on temps. They will come down a little but overall, we’ll be ok.
*FYI for everyone- elevated fire weather conditions Today, Sunday, and next Tuesday. We are abnormally dry and also in a moderate drought in our county so just be careful out there.
USE EXTREME CAUTION IF UTILIZING ANYTHING RELATED TO FIRE! When winds are forecast to be above 15 mph, hold off on any controlled burning, especially now under these conditions.
*There is a good chance we’ll see some thunderstorm activity Sunday. The percentage isn’t real high yet but we can be hopeful that it will occur. Same thing for Tuesday. We’ll see what happens.
Overall, we’ll be ok so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny. Highs in the mid-70s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph, becoming west this afternoon 15-25 mph with higher gusts.
Tonight- Clear. Lows in the upper 30s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
