0315L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 2/27/25

*The front pushed through yesterday and it got a little windy for a while but the winds have dropped quite a bit and we’ll see mostly sunny skies today with northerly winds to start with, then winds will shift around to the southwest later today into tonight.

*As stated yesterday, we haven’t received appreciable rainfall in quite some time. We are abnormally dry and of course, foliage is dead since we are still under the influence of winter. That said, the fire danger is elevated and will remain this way until we can green up. That is, as long as we do see rainfall.  There is a “chance” for rain Sunday and Tuesday but the track still isn’t set in stone. We’ll just have to wait and see how the forecast verifies.

USE EXTREME CAUTION IF UTILIZING ANYTHING RELATED TO FIRE!

Overall, we’ll be ok so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the mid-60s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight- Clear. Lows in the upper 30s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
