0310L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 4/22/25
SLIGHT AND MARGINAL RISK FOR STORMS TONIGHT.
Warm temps, gusty southerly winds, and a chance for thunderstorms this evening and overnight. This will be our story for the rest of the week. Some storms will be severe with hail and winds being the main threats. The tornado threat is very low but as always, not completely out of the question. Read the graphics attached carefully and remember that these will change some during the day.
Per guidance: A weak surface low will develop in the Dodge City/Greensburg area with a dryline extending southwest and we do expect storms to form in the panhandles just east of the dryline and move east during the evening and overnight hours. Each days storm threat will depend on what happens each evening the night before. Either way, we’ll probably see storms each evening for the rest of the week. We’ll see what happens.
Overall, we’ll be ok. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:
Today- Sunny. Highs in the lower 80s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
Tonight- Partly cloudy. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the upper 50s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
