0310L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 9/17/25

We are in a MARGINAL RISK for severe weather today. A very slow frontal boundary will push into the area as the day wears on. When storms do occur, they will be heavier and possibly longer lasting than previous days. Training is possible as these storms develop and move northeast so flooding might be a factor depending on speed. We’ll see how this mess comes together later today. Make sure you have our GARFIELD COUNTY EM APP. Here is a link to both the play store and iTunes https://gcem.org/garfield-county-em/

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:

Wednesday- Mostly sunny. A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs around 90. South winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Wednesday Night- Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the mid-60s. Southeast winds around 5 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification and preparedness app. If you don’t have it, you’re NOT prepared! REMEMBER that each days post appears under the GCEM Blog icon on the app.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
