WEATHER OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT – 01/29/2026
Good Morning!
Enjoy the warmer weather today, because tomorrow a front arrives bringing much cooler temperatures and gusty north winds. We will dip down to around 13 degrees tonight with a wind out of the north at 5-10mph. Refreezing of any melted snow will create an issue for black ice on Friday Morning. As i stated before, drive slow, and leave adequate space between you and the vehicle in front of you. Its a good idea to keep your faucets dripping throughout the weekend, as we could see wind chills as low as -8 degrees. Also, with snow still on the ground, it is an okay time to do any controlled burning. Just be sure they are fully extinguished before heading into next week, when we will start to dry out once again.
Here is your forecast from the NWS/Norman:
TODAY – Mostly sunny this morning, then becoming mostly cloudy. Cold with highs in the lower 30s. North winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
TONIGHT – Partly cloudy. Cold with lows around 13. North winds 5 to 10 mph.
Have a great day!
