TODAY’S WEATHER OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT – 3/16/2026

Good morning,

It’s a cold start to the day across the area after a hard freeze overnight. Temperatures this morning are down in the 20s, and with the wind it’s feeling even colder in some spots. According to the National Weather Service in Norman, we’ll warm up some this afternoon, but it’s still going to be a cool day overall. High temperatures will likely top out in the mid to upper 40s.

Wind will remain a factor today. Expect northwest winds around 16 to 21 mph with gusts up to around 28 mph at times. With the dry air and the wind, we will continue to have elevated fire weather conditions, especially across open areas. It’s a good idea to avoid any outdoor burning again today.

Skies should stay mostly sunny through the day. Tonight will be clear and cold again with lows dropping back into the mid-20s.

The good news is a big warm-up is on the way. Temperatures will climb quickly starting tomorrow with highs back into the upper 60s, and we’ll likely see 80s and even 90s later in the week across much of Oklahoma.

HERE IS YOUR FORECAST FROM THE NWS/NORMAN:

TODAY – Sunny, with a high near 44. North northwest wind 16 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 24. North northwest wind 7 to 9 mph becoming south southeast after midnight.

Have a great day!
