0315L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-8/11/23

* HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON UNTIL 9PM THIS EVENING. Heat Index values upwards of 108 are expected. It wouldn’t surprise me if this was upgraded later today to an Excessive Heat Warning.  We’ll see what happens. Use caution and stay hydrated while working outdoors.

* Fire Danger for us, is slowly climbing so use caution out there. Be sure to call controlled burns in to dispatch at 580-234-FIRE (3473).

* Overall, we’ll be ok, just another toasty day. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday-Sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Humid with highs in the upper 90s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. Heat index values up to 108 in the afternoon.

Friday Night-Partly cloudy in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Humid with lows in the lower 70s. Southeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent. Heat index values up to 107 early in the evening.
