0315L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-8/10/23
*Download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app and click on the GCEM Blog icon. The information here is our daily outlook also located on the front page of our website at www.gcem.org.
*The heat is slowly returning and the HEAT INDEX is slowly climbing too. We’ll see heat index numbers around 107 beginning on Friday. Also on Friday, for those that travel south, the “heat index” will be near 115 degrees near the Red River so use extreme caution if you plan on being in that area tomorrow.
* Just remember that it’s still summer and it’s going to be hot and humid. As long as we remain humid, the heat index will be around so just pace yourselves outdoors and stay hydrated. The Fire Danger will continue to be an issue so use caution while utilizing anything related to fire out there. If you mess up, call 9-1-1.
*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny. Highs around 90. South winds around 5 mph.
Tonight- Mostly clear in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. Lows around 70. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
