0320L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-12/02/22

GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification & preparedness app. If you don’t have it, you will need it. Download it today before a major event occurs and stay advised.

1- The winds will be prevalent once again today as a cold front moves towards us. The front should arrive in the area early Saturday morning and the windshift will be abrupt. Winds will be gusty for awhile on Saturday but will calm down some as the day progresses.

2- Fire weather concerns will continue today so keep your eyes peeled for smoke and fire. With everything remaining dry along with strong winds, fire spread won’t take very long. It will make fighting fire difficult. Call 911 asap so the proper response can be sent.

3- Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Patchy fog this morning. Mostly sunny. Windy and not as cool with highs in the upper 60s. Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

Tonight- Partly cloudy and breezy, cold with lows in the upper 20s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph, becoming north 20 to 25 mph after midnight

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
