0355L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-12/20/19

1-Mild weather will continue and the Fire Danger will lessen today. We had several fires yesterday due to either chains hanging off of a vehicle or bearings going out on wheels and causing sparks. When humidity and dewpoint temps are low, all it takes is a spark and fire is the result. We had a boatload of 911 calls so thank you to all that saw the fire and acted by calling. Fire crews were able to respond quickly and put the fires out. STAY VIGILANT out there. If you see smoke or fire, call 911.

2- Weatherwise, we are looking good for the weekend. We don’t expect rainfall here right now but the southern part of the state may get wet. If you plan on traveling, check your forecasts before you leave. Here is a link to all the NWS OFFICES in our region- https://gcem.org/links/

3- Here is your county-wide forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Partly cloudy early in the morning then clearing. Highs in the mid 50s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight-Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 20s. Light and variable winds.

REMEMBER to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. You’re NOT prepared without it!

Have a great day!!
