0340L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-2/28/2020

1- FIRE DANGER will increase some for us for the next 3-4 days and it’ll be higher out in western Oklahoma. Low humidity, warm temps coupled with strong winds are the main ingredients needed for this danger. Be careful using anything related to fire and report any smoke and fire to 911. Any controlled burning needs to be evaluated before lighting as winds are forecast to be gusting into the 20’s through this time period.

2- GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification app for everyone in Garfield County. If you fail to download this app, you are not prepared.

3- Weather-wise; we will be quite a bit warmer through the weekend until a front pushes in later on Sunday. The winds will be a negative factor for feeling really warm but at least we won’t be cold and windy. Overall, we’ll be ok so enjoy this warmth as later next week we’ll cool back down some with a chance for rain.

4- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

 Friday-Sunny with a high near 62. West winds 10 to 120 mph with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Friday Night-Clear with a low around 35. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph becoming light and variable.

HAVE A SUPER DAY!!
