0335L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-7/2/21

1- No flood advisories for today so far. Heavy rain chances will be mostly confined to western and southwestern Oklahoma. This doesn’t mean we won’t see any rainfall but the heavier weather should be south of us.

2- If we have any storms, we may see heavy downpours. Hopefully not like yesterday. Overall, our rain chances are low but not out of the question for today and through the weekend. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly cloudy early in the morning, then a slight chance of thunderstorms late in the morning. Partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the mid-80s. Northeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of thunderstorms 20 percent.

Tonight-Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 60s. East winds around 10 mph in the evening becoming light and variable.

3- Concerning fireworks. It’s illegal to fire them off of a county road. Most county roads are very muddy and if you try to drive down one, you may not get very far. It’s best not to make that attempt. It’s illegal to bring them into the Enid city limits. If you live in another town here in the county, check and see what the law is in that jurisdiction. Here is the law on fireworks:

FIREWORKS- TITLE 68, Article 16-Fireworks, Section 1627- It shall be unlawful to explode or ignite fireworks within five hundred feet of any church, hospital, asylum, unharvested, flammable agricultural crop, public school or where fireworks are stored, sold, or offered for sale. No person shall ignite or discharge any permissible articles of fireworks within or throw the same from a motor vehicle; nor shall any person place or throw any ignited article of fireworks into or at such vehicle or at or near any group of people.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
