0420L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-6/26/2020

1- WINDY AND DRY with a chance for thunderstorms late tonight. We are in a SEVERE drought right now so be extremely careful out there utilizing anything related to fire.

2- As for FIREWORKS; if you plan on buying fireworks, make sure you already have permission from a landowner outside of the city limits BEFORE spending a lot of money as it’s ILLEGAL to fire them off on a county road, lease road, or near ANY standing crops. I will be posting everyday next week a statement concerning this. IF YOU START A FIRE, CALL 911 and give us your location so a quick response can be dispatched. SHERIFF DEPUTIES and RURAL FIRE DEPARTMENT personnel will be patrolling their respective districts. If Fire or Emergency Management folks ask you to leave and you don’t, a DEPUTY may be along shortly.

3- All that said, here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly sunny and hot. Highs in the upper 90s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts.

Tonight-Partly cloudy. A slight chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the lower 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of thunderstorms 20 percent.

HAVE A SUPER DAY!

MIKE
