0310L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 6/27/25
GENERAL THUNDERSTORM RISK today. Severe weather is not expected but if storms occur, the severe risk would be due to 1- outflow winds, 2- hail. Overall, we should be ok but keep in mind that these storms could be what we call popcorn storms, they build quickly and collapse, thus the strong winds. We’ll see what happens.
Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN:
Today- Partly sunny. A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly this morning. Highs in the lower 90s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
Tonight- Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then partly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Humid with lows in the lower 70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

On Tuesday, I posted info on fireworks according to state law. It is posted on my emergency management page on facebook. Here is that shortcut “on” that venue- @EGCEM and yes, it’s all caps. If you see folks popping fireworks on county roads, get a tag number, if possible and call the Sheriff’s office at 580-237-0244.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
