0340L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-6/09/23

*Today/Tonite look to be interesting. Daytime storms may occur by diurnal means as we get into the afternoon hours and we reach convective temperature. Wherever storms do occur, expect heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds. If severe storms occur, this would be due to either hail size or gusty winds. OVERNIGHT: we’ll possibly experience severe weather as storms that form over the high plains of eastern Colorado move through the area. We’ll see what happens there.

* Overall, we’ll be ok so I will update this as we get better data for the overnight hours on the Garfield County EM app later today. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly sunny, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs around 90. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Tonight- Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Some thunderstorms may be severe after midnight. Lows in the mid-60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
